Forrestburn 24-25 August 2019: Entry List and Final Instructions

Forrestburn-Paddock-June-2019
The Entry List (download the revised version here) for the August 2019 speed hill climb double-header at Forrestburn is now available to download together with the Final Instructions for the event. If you entered, please check that:

a) you are on the list
b) your details are correct – including the days that you entered for
c) you are happy with the class you are in

Please also be sure to read the Final Instructions – there are some changes from previous Finals which you have to be aware of. If necessary we will issue a revised entry list correcting any errors in a couple of days. If there are any problems please get in touch with Philip Rowlands, Secretary of the meeting – philip@mscc.org.uk

Results, as they happen on the day, will be available in the paddock through digital displays and we also hope to issue Final Results on the Saturday and Sunday evenings here (if possible).

Have a great weekend of motor sport – see you there.

In spite of apocalyptic weather only a few miles to the east, the track night went ahead as planned. The usual regulars were in attendance plus several new faces. Amazingly, not a single drop of rain fell on Forrestburn for the entire evening and the track was in constant use. All participants and their cars survived unscathed although there was evidence of a grass cutting excursion on at least one!

Here is a photo-gallery of the evening courtesy of Trish Macdonald.

There’s a fabulous event coming up in a couple of weeks which you simply have to attend so get your entries in now. The Grass Autotest at Coulter near Biggar has been running for a few years now and last year the event was recorded by MSCC’s answer to Alfred Hitchcock – Alastair Reynolds. You can see the video here but I strongly advise you to keep the volume low as Jincheng Zhang’s heavy metal soundtrack is a little sore on the ears.

As you can see, this is very much a family day out in very pleasant surroundings as well as a motorsport event. If you entered last year, it’s a chance to improve your score. If you haven’t tried it before why not enter and test your driving skills against the usual suspects.

You can download the entry form here. We really need a minimum of 15 entries for this so please enter now for a great day out – hey the weather might even be good. The event venue is off Birthwood Road and will be signposted at the A702 turnoff. NB – no barbecue, unfortunately.

MSCC Tracknight - 3 July 2019
We had a very successful tracknight on Wednesday evening. In fact, to quote one of the participants, “Good weather, good crowd, good “craic” and ran all the way until 9.00pm!” What’s not to like? Why not try to get involved in the next one – it’s on 7 August. If you are interested, get your name down early.
