Colin-Tullis-glad-to-be-back-on-the-track-complete-with-a-new-engine12 June saw another one of our ever popular track nights. This time we had 22 cars and 4 new members who all seemed to have a good evening. The selection of cars gets better every month, this time we had a guided missile otherwise known as a Noble M12 and the delightful Terrapin MK.1 along with a Cooper sports owned coincidently by Stephen Cooper which he was giving a shake down for racing next weekend.

Donald and Trish McDonald had some fun in their latest acquisition a Subaru BRZ and I’m sure that Donald will really put it through its paces at the hill climb. I must say that for someone who had never driven up the hill before Mark Robertson really made me double take when I went up to the top to take few pictures. The first car to come round was an Elise with its tail out, very enjoyable viewing, can only imagine how he will deal with the hill when he has been round a few more times.

It was good to see Colin Tullis back on the black stuff with the Vortex, another man who knows how to have fun! Robert Cockling was let loose again in Mrs Cockling’s car and it had a slight mishap again. Thanks for the biscuits Robert, hope Mrs C has forgiven you.

All in all it was a very enjoyable night all round, so much so that the 8.50 finish went on until after 9.00. The marshalling sheet was filled out with no problem which makes it fair for everyone. The people who must be thanked are the people who came to the work party prior to the track night. If the work didn’t get done then the events could not take place – thanks guys. As always the Barbie was there for members use with tea and coffee available. Next event is the hill climb on the 28-29 June and as always marshals are needed, so if you feel you can help out please contact either Marion or myself and I’m sure we will be able to find a pair of overalls to fit. After that it’s the 8 July for the next track night so get it pencilled in your diary and will see you then.
