work-party-takes-a-breakA message from Donald McDonald:
Sunday’s work party to prepare the hill for next weekend’s hill climb was composed of the committee, a few regulars and, (whisper it) child labour!
the palatial administration suite
The work carried out included painting of the inside of the portacabin, strimming the access to the marshals posts, grass cutting in the top paddock, weeding, building steps to provide marshals access to the track from the paddock, repairing the wall along the reservoir, and as usual, rebuilding the tyre walls after the attentions of the mindless morons for whom an intellectual challenge is to think of a two-letter word. Fortunately the weather was kind and during the lunch break, one member managed to fit in a crash course in obstetrics!

Based on requests from the MSA, larger safety bankings have been constructed at several points around the track to protect marshals from airborne competitors.

The areas where the grass surface has been disturbed have been re-seeded but, strangely for Forrestburn, there has been a lack of rain to trigger the growing process. From experience I can safely predict that rain will start to fall as the “Historic” competitors reach the start line on Saturday, June 28th.
