The results of the Forrestburn Speed Hill Climb event held on 16 August 2014 are now available here.
This was a thoroughly dismal day for competitors with horizontal drizzle and high winds coupled with a late start due to more technical issues and other snafus. Predictably there were no new class records set. Ross Napier set Best Time of Day with 49.65 seconds – compare that with his time in June of 41.13 seconds and you get an idea of the difficulties drivers faced. Fastest Road Car went to Craig Nicol, Fastest Modified Car was won by Stuart Dow and Fastest Thoroughbred by Simon Scott.
Chairman of MSCC Gordon McRobbie was a distant 74th on the day setting one practice time of 86.94 seconds before retiring. Believe it or not this was an improvement on his result for June.
Hopefully there will be better weather and times tomorrow.
