Forrestburn Trackday: 13 September 2020

MSCC-Trackday-16-August-2020
We are delighted to say that we will be running a third closed Trackday at Forrestburn Hillclimb on Sunday 13 September 2020. The event will run from 11:00 to 15:00 with a strict gate opening and closing window. No spectators or photographers are allowed.

The team has been working very hard behind the scenes to accommodate the strict COVID-19 social distancing requirements and to ensure that Club members and staff alike have a safe visit to Forrestburn. It is absolutely essential that you read the regulations fully as they contain important information regarding the running of the day.  You can download the Regulations here.

You can enter the event through the online Entry Form here and entries are now open. Again, we are restricted to 20 places due to social distancing requirements and we have a 5 place waiting list as before.

We are also asking that anyone wishing to marshal at the track day registers their details with us. You will find the online registration form here and the Guidance for Marshals here.

I hope we all have a great day and look forward to seeing you at Forrestburn.

Our second trackday under Covid-19 restrictions was a success! Entrants enjoyed a dry day at Forrestburn with only a couple of minor issues that you would expect of machines being rebuilt over the lockdown period. For many, it was an ideal time and place to make sure the upgrades applied in quieter times worked as planned. Others just wanted to blow out the cobwebs or shake the rust off from the unexpected downtime we have all had to endure.

Keep your eyes on your inbox for further track days – we expect to be able to offer another soon. Meanwhile here is a Photogallery courtesy of Tricia MacDonald.

From Jonathan Neale

Its the start of the 2020 season with Monklands Sporting Car Club’s first Production Car Trial on Sunday 1 March at Forrestburn. I hope to find you all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for the season ahead!

A notable change from Motorsport UK HQ this year. All entrants and passengers now need to be registered with MSUK to be able to compete. The good news is that it’s free but you will need to go to the following link to make the necessary application:

https://www.motorsportuk.org/get-started/2020-rs-clubman-licence/

If you haven’t done the necessary before the event then don’t worry. You can fill out the necessary paperwork on the day – it just means we will have more paperwork to fill in so I would be grateful if the majority could do the needful ahead of the first event.

Another notable change is my email address. It is now jandeneale@outlook.com so please can you update your address book as I will not receive emails sent to the old email address.

Entries by email are preferred but by post is fine too. If you have trouble filling in the Entry Form which you can download here then just drop me an email with your name, car type and class entered and you can fill in the form on the day. Payment can be done on the day as well. I do not have access to social media I’m afraid. As always, if you are available to marshal then I would be very grateful for your support. Just let me know if you are intending to attend so I can make sure lunch is available for you.

Otherwise, I hope it will be business as usual – good weather (I’m working on that), great lunch and fun on the hills.

Best regards

Jonathan
