A spectator guide to Forrestburn

Monklands Sporting Car Club runs hill climb events at Forrestburn over two weekends each year – usually in June and August. Both weekends are made up of separate events on Saturday and Sunday.

On arrival at Forrestburn spectators should drive into the venue and turn left, the car park is on the hard standing area. There is no charge for spectators or parking. Once parked you can walk up to the paddock where all the competing cars are parked. Please be aware that cars are constantly moving in and out of the paddock.

The spectator viewing area can be found up the bank on the west side of the paddock. From here it is possible to view most of the track. Dogs are not allowed anywhere within the venue and children should be supervised at all times.

The timetable remains constant for all the events. Competitors have a minimum of two practice runs up the hill beginning at 10:00 hrs. These runs give the drivers an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the track and although these runs are timed, they do not play any part in deciding the results.

Following the practice runs there will be a lunch break, usually around 12.30, which allows the marshals and other officials a time away from their responsibilities. Food is available in the Paddock.

Timed runs, the actual competition, begin at 13:30 hrs. Each competitor has two attempts to record their fastest time. Depending on the number of entries these runs are usually completed by 15.30. This is followed by the presentation of prizes.
