Alfa Romeo 2000GTV at Forrestburn Speed Hill Climb Track Night
In an unusual turn of events for a Forrestburn track night, sun stopped play when drivers were totally blinded on the approach to “the wall”, resulting in one young lady participant turning left about twenty yards too soon. The Golf came to a halt well up the bank, removing the power steering pump from the car in the process, but fortunately without personal injury. Until this happened a full entry had enjoyed excellent track conditions and there was a constant stream of cars on the track.
Track Night at Forrestburn : sun stops play
It was great to see an injection of Italian brio at the track night in the form of several Alfa Romeos both on the track and in the paddock – so there were actually some decent cars there for once! The event also saw what was probably the first ascent of the hill by an LPG powered car in the form of Ian Patterson’s Suzuki Ignis. As usual, the “craick” was good but our Chairman flatly refused all offer to help run in the new Vitara on the hill!
