George Coghill Jnr takes BTD at Forrestburn
After an unusually warm and sunny day at Forrestburn, the first part of the weekend’s double header was won by George Coghill Jnr who took Best Time of Day in his Force PC in 41.03 seconds. There was one new track record in Class A2 by Nigel Galvin in his Ford Escort MK2 RS breaking Clark Sutherland’s record set on 28 August 2011 of 51.53 seconds with an outstanding 50.92 set on his second run.

Many congratulations to all the Class winners – Nigel Galvin, John Hamilton, Jonathan Neale, Craig Nicol, Ronnie MacGregor, Andrew Connel, John Ramsey, Aonghus Drummond, Chris Sparks, Stuart Dow, Graham Clark, Steve Marr, George Coghill Jnr, Alex Hazlewood and Angus Buchan.

For Monklands Sporting Car Club, the day was marred by Chairman Gordon McRobbie’s appearance in last place – just a little quicker than ‘retired’, ‘failed to finish’ or ‘no time recorded’. All Club members will find this deeply embarrassing so we all hope he can do better in the second part of the double-header. Watch this space.
