David Swinton and the Forrestburn Grass
Better weather at Forrestburn today saw improved times and slightly fewer trips from the track into the landscape for competitors. Tom Graham set Best Time of Day at 45.37 seconds in his Megapin K7 in Class 4 (Racing Cars up to 1100cc). He was followed closely by Craig Beaton who took 2nd BTD at 45.64 seconds in an OMS PR.

This was the last event at which David Swinton will be Clerk of the Course. David has been in this role for 24 years and felt that it was time for a change. Also, Marion Hopkins is withdrawing from her role as Competition Secretary so big changes are coming for MSCC. David was presented with a piece of Forrestburn turf as a happy memory of all the times he asked drivers to ‘keep off the grass – it’s mine’. We will have more news about these changes at the Club very soon.

Needless to say, all this emotion was too much for one competitor.
