Forrestburn Autotest – Sunday 15 May 2011

Morgan Plus 8 AutotestThe next Monklands Sporting Car Club event is the inaugural autotest at Forrestburn on 15 May 2011.  Entries are now open via the Supplementary Regulations and Entry Form (211KB PDF).  Can you please e-mail Ros Cooper at the address in the Regs to confirm your entry or if you wish to marshal at this event.

An autotest is the art of precision car control against the clock over a predetermined course. It is a low speed, high skill sport and is the ideal discipline in which to learn car control. The course is marked out with traffic cones or poles and each competitor is given a map of the route they must take. This will show the direction of travel (forwards or reverse) and various other manoeuvres.  Time penalties of either 5 or 10 seconds for hitting cones or going too far over a stop line are added to the final time for the test.   Each event will normally consist of a number of different tests, each being approximately 30 secs to 60 secs long.

Autotesting is without doubt one of the cheapest forms of motorsport with entry fees around £20 for a Regional Championship event or even less if competing in a closed to club event. The entry fee for this event is £15.00 per person.

Its a bring-your-own-food day but there will be barbeques available for those who want to make use of them. Please join us either as a competitor or as a marshal.

Welcome to our new website

the summit at Forrestburn
Welcome to Monklands Sporting Car Club’s new website. This site will provide up to the minute information on the activities of MSCC, membership of the club and details of the current events calendar as well as historical information about the club and Forrestburn.

In the future we hope you will be able to apply for or renew your club membership directly from the site, purchase club merchandise and eventually, send in your entry forms for events online.

Meanwhile this front page of the website will have the latest information about people, events, results, calls for working parties and of course for marshals. Within the next few weeks you will be able to follow us in Twitter and get updates from this site on Facebook.

Please be patient while we get everything in place on here – not everything will work immediately but hopefully the changes will be helpful and worthwhile.
