Morgan Plus 8 Autotest

The next Monklands Sporting Car Club event is the inaugural autotest at Forrestburn on 15 May 2011.  Entries are now open via the Supplementary Regulations and Entry Form (211KB PDF).  Can you please e-mail Ros Cooper at the address in the Regs to confirm your entry or if you wish to marshal at this event.

An autotest is the art of precision car control against the clock over a predetermined course. It is a low speed, high skill sport and is the ideal discipline in which to learn car control. The course is marked out with traffic cones or poles and each competitor is given a map of the route they must take. This will show the direction of travel (forwards or reverse) and various other manoeuvres.  Time penalties of either 5 or 10 seconds for hitting cones or going too far over a stop line are added to the final time for the test.   Each event will normally consist of a number of different tests, each being approximately 30 secs to 60 secs long.

Autotesting is without doubt one of the cheapest forms of motorsport with entry fees around £20 for a Regional Championship event or even less if competing in a closed to club event. The entry fee for this event is £15.00 per person.

Its a bring-your-own-food day but there will be barbeques available for those who want to make use of them. Please join us either as a competitor or as a marshal.
